Popular Ghanaian musician Bisa Kdei shared his thoughts on the state of the country’s leadership and economic challenges in a candid interview on TV3.
Speaking passionately about the struggles that many Ghanaians face, Bisa expressed his frustration with those in power, questioning their consideration for the masses.
“The people at the top, I don’t know if they don’t think about the masses or if there’s something wrong with the economy itself.
“But for me personally, I think that it’s a one-man chop thing,” he lamented, pointing to the perception that the country’s wealth and resources are controlled by a select few, leaving the majority to suffer.
Bisa Kdei’s concern is deeply rooted in the impact of unfulfilled promises made by politicians. He noted how leaders come into power with grand promises to transform the country, only for their delivery to fall short.
“Some of the things that I hear from the politicians, it’s just sad,” he said. “People make promises, but at the end of the day, the delivery becomes a problem.”
The musician, known for his reflective lyrics, urged Ghanaians to make wise choices when selecting their leaders.

“Ghanaians should choose wisely,” he emphasized, suggesting that the responsibility also lies with the electorate to hold politicians accountable for their actions, rather than falling for empty promises.
Ghana’s upcoming general elections are set for December 7, 2024, marking a significant moment as it will see the end of President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration.
The two leading contenders in this presidential race are John Mahama from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Mahamudu Bawumia of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), who currently serves as Vice President.
Mahama, a former president, is running for his fourth time as the NDC’s candidate, while Bawumia aims to unify the electorate with his technocratic background.
Additionally, Alan Kyerematen, the former Minister for Trade and Industry, has established a new party called the Movement for Change after departing from the NPP, positioning him as a noteworthy independent contender.
