The much-anticipated 2024 Rapperholic concert held on December 25 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) was a monumental event, bringing together some of the biggest names in African music.
Among the highlights of the night was the powerful collaboration between Nigerian afrobeat sensation Ruger and Ghana’s very own hip-hop legend, Sarkodie.
During his electrifying performance, Ruger couldn’t contain his excitement, sharing heartfelt words with the crowd.
“Let me tell you something real quick. I grew up listening to Sarkodie, and it’s been my dream to be on the same stage with him, and I am happy to be on the same stage with him. You know Sarkodie is a legend,” he said, his voice filled with admiration.

For many fans in the audience, this collaboration was more than just a performance. It symbolized the unity between two of Africa’s most influential music industries — Nigeria and Ghana.
Ruger, known for his distinct afrobeat sound, has risen rapidly in popularity with hits like “Asiwaju” and “Girlfriend,” and his collaboration with Sarkodie, one of Ghana’s most respected and internationally recognized rappers, was seen as a powerful moment of synergy.
Sarkodie, whose name is synonymous with the growth of hip-hop in Africa, has built a legacy that spans over a decade, and performing alongside him was clearly a dream come true for Ruger.
