Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy has opened up about an uncomfortable industry encounter, describing it as a deliberate attempt to provoke a reaction from him.
Speaking on the Afrobeats Podcast in New York monitored by Ghanastreetjournal, Stonebwoy recalled an awkward situation where he and his team approached someone, but the exchange felt forced.
“We just said hi and moved on. On our way back, Small God and I were wondering—what was the point of that? Maybe it was the energy,” he reflected.
According to Stonebwoy, the moment seemed staged, as if designed to test his reaction.
“I don’t know, it felt like a trap to see whether I would react. I was just confused about it,” he admitted.

The following day, he reached out to someone he respects in the industry to express his disappointment.
“I messaged Frankie and said, ‘Bro, that thing you guys did wasn’t nice.’ I have a lot of respect for these people,” Stonebwoy emphasized.
He challenged anyone with issues against him to speak up.
“I ask anybody who knows what’s up to come out and tell the world that Stonebwoy is a bad person. Let’s see,” he declared.
The singer made it clear that while he values respect, he won’t ignore situations that don’t sit right with him.
“I had to be honest. I’m not one of those artists who would openly disrespect anyone, but I also won’t pretend when something doesn’t feel right,” he stated.
Stonebwoy’s words suggest a deeper frustration with how some industry figures operate, but as always, he remains focused on his craft.
