International Youth Network For UN Security Council Resolution 2250 Launched Its US Branch In Florida

The United States chapter of the International Youth Network for UN Security Council Resolution 2250 ( IYNUNSCR2250) was officially launched on November 11, 2023, in West Palm Beach, Florida.

During that weekend, the 1st Session of the Global Youth General Assembly hosted a number of events, but the highlight was the Declaration of the United States of America as the Headquarters and the Inauguration and swearing-in of IYNUNSCR2250 Chapter Appointees.

Before the swearing-in ceremony, H.E. Lady Rev. Lilian Sally Addo, Global President of the International Youth Network for UN Security Council Resolution 2250, greeted and briefed the new appointees.

She gave them lessons in diplomacy and informed them of the requirements expected of them in their new positions. She also declared that the United States would serve as the headquarters for the International Youth Network for UN Security Council Resolution 2250 ( IYNUNSCR2250) . The Global Patron, H.E. Dr. Phillip Phinn, and Board members present, Hon. Hopeson Adorye, Her Excellency Rev. Dr. Asie Kabuki Ocansey, and His Excellency Reverend Dr. Devon Anthony Bannister, were introduced to the new appointees by H.E. Lady Rev. Lilian Sally Addo.

H.E. Evangelist Dr. Charles Nimmo Ntiamoah Mensah (Mr. CNN) – Country Head of the USA Chapter, thanked the board on behalf of his peers and promised to rally them to carry out their responsibilities honourably.

The Special Advisor to the Global President (Hon. Raphaelle David Antwi) and the 2nd Deputy Special Envoy (Hon. Regina Silas) were both sworn in. Hon. Akua Antwiwaa Fordjour is the global director for travel and conferences.

The newly appointed members of the USA Chapter include the following personalities:

  • Hon. Kingsley Abeiku Amoah, 1st Vice Chairman, NJ
  • Hon. Thomas Elleamo Yankey, Georgia Chair
  • Hon. Nina Rica Ealdama, 4th Deputy Country Head. 
  • Hon. Prophetess Arimetha Smith, Ohio Chair
  • Hon. Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Kyere Nkansah – Chairman, Maryland.
  • Hon. Abimbola Olukoju, 1st Deputy Board Chair, Nigeria.
  • Hon. Yaa Achampomaa Ofran, 2nd Vice Chairperson, NJ

While speaking about the importance of UNSCR 2250, Her Excellency Lady Reverend Lilian Sally Addo said, “On 9 December 2015, the United Nations Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS). This resolution is the first to recognise the important and positive role young women and men play in the maintenance and promotion of international peace and security.”

In order to bring awareness to and support the implementation of UNSCR 2250, the inter-agency Working Group on Youth and Peacebuilding, its members, and partners supported the following activities in 2016.”

She also issued a call to the public, urging them to become part of the network and do what they can to help make the world a safer, more peaceful place.
