Kanye West is back in the billionaire ranks, but this time, he’s outpaced JAY-Z, his former collaborator and friend, to become the wealthiest rapper in the world.
On January 23, Kanye took to Instagram to announce his impressive financial leap, declaring his net worth had surged to $2.77 billion.
In the post, he credited Eton Venture Services, a business valuation company, for this eye-popping figure. His caption, “LAA LA LA LA,” seemed like a defiant response to critics who have long questioned his business acumen.
Forbes, the go-to authority on celebrity net worths, has yet to confirm or comment on Kanye’s new estimate.

As of January 24, the magazine still pegged Kanye’s fortune at a much more modest $400 million, far below the $2.77 billion figure he proudly shared.
If the new valuation is accurate, Kanye would not only be back in the billionaire club, but he would also have surpassed JAY-Z, who, according to Forbes, holds a net worth of $2.5 billion.
The majority of Kanye’s wealth, according to Eton Venture Services, is derived from his music career and his complete ownership of the Yeezy brand, a fashion line that continues to dominate the sneaker market.
These assets, combined with Kanye’s business ventures, have clearly propelled his wealth into new heights, allowing him to claim the title of the richest rapper in the game.
