Nana Ama McBrown, the celebrated actress and host of Onua Showtime, found herself in an unexpected situation when her guest, Empress Gifty, failed to show up for the much-anticipated episode.
The event, which had been heavily promoted, led to considerable disappointment among the studio audience and viewers at home.

McBrown, known for her poise and professionalism, was compelled to address the situation live on air.
“I know many of you were expecting to see Empress Gifty tonight,” McBrown began, her expression betraying her frustration. “Unfortunately, she’s not here with us, and I don’t know the exact reasons why.”
Empress Gifty, who has been associated with UTV and even shared the same platform as McBrown during her time there, was expected to join the Onua TV program.
However, her absence remained unexplained, leaving both McBrown and her team in an awkward position.
The host was quick to extend an apology to her fans, recognizing the disappointment that the unexpected no-show had caused.
“I sincerely apologize to everyone here in the studio and to those watching at home,” McBrown added. “We had planned something special for tonight, but sometimes, things don’t go as expected.”
While there has been no official statement from Empress Gifty or her representatives regarding the reasons for her absence, McBrown’s words suggest that the situation could have stemmed from underlying tensions or scheduling conflicts.
“I understand that things happen, but I just wish we had some clarity on the matter,” McBrown noted, hinting at her own surprise at the turn of events.
