One of the people responsible for the death of Pop Smoke, who was recently released from custody, has boldly stated that he feels no remorse for ending the life of the up-and-coming rapper.

In a video, interview shared on Instagram by No Jumper on Friday (July 5), Blockstar, who was only 15 years old at the time of the 2020 murder, tells Adam22 that he stands by his actions without any regret.

“I’m not sorry about nothing,” Blockstar stated. “It should’ve never happened, but I ain’t sorry. If I could go back, I’d go back. But I ain’t sorry. People die every day. [Pop Smoke] was rapping about it. All types of stuff. So, I ain’t sorry about it.

“I send my condolences to the family. I wish it never happened. But I don’t regret nothing. Growing up, my people, my family told me, ‘You ain’t sorry for nothing. Whatever you did, you did it for a reason and stand on it.’”

Blockstar, the youngest among the four men accused in the murder of Pop Smoke (born Bashar Jackson), was recently released from juvenile detention following a four-year sentence. TMZ revealed that the sentence was part of a plea deal in 2023.

Not long after his release, a video surfaced showing the young man attempting to remove an ankle monitor.

The No Jumper interview was unexpected, especially since the platform faced backlash from Blockstar for sharing the video.

Hot97 reported that he criticized the outlet for using his name and story for their own gain, without making similar claims against other media sources.

Corey Walker, the sole adult charged in Pop Smoke’s murder, was given a new trial date last month after failing to reach a plea deal with prosecutors.
