American rapper Meek Mill, known for his passion for bikes and love for Ghana, has hinted at a return trip to the West African nation this winter.
In a recent post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the hip-hop star expressed his desire to visit Ghana once again, sharing an exciting plan: “I might come back to Ghana this winter… if so I’m trying wheelie all the way to the slave castles! I need to go see that!!!”
This potential visit brings back memories of Meek Mill’s first trip to Ghana in December 2022. During that visit, the rapper became the talk of the town, engaging with the local community and fully immersing himself in Ghana’s culture.
From his energetic bike rides through the streets of Accra to performing alongside some of Ghana’s biggest names in music, Meek made waves throughout the country. However, his trip also sparked some controversy.

The drama peaked when Meek Mill shot a music video inside the Jubilee House, Ghana’s presidential palace.
The video, which featured Meek performing in various parts of the state house, including in front of the coat of arms and other significant symbols of national pride, raised eyebrows.
Many Ghanaians questioned how the rapper gained access to such a prestigious government building for a music video shoot, sparking debates about protocol, national security, and the integrity of public spaces.
Following the backlash, Meek Mill issued an apology to the people of Ghana. He clarified that it was not his intention to cause offence or disrespect the country’s leaders and culture.
Despite the controversy, Meek expressed his deep appreciation for Ghana, stating how connected he felt to the people and culture during his visit.
His return could rekindle that connection, with Meek clearly keen on experiencing more of Ghana’s rich history, particularly its slave castles.
Ghana is home to several historically significant sites related to the transatlantic slave trade, including Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
These castles serve as poignant reminders of the horrors of slavery and are often visited by members of the African diaspora seeking to reconnect with their roots.
Meek’s love for bike stunts, especially doing wheelies, is also well-known. During his last trip, he bonded with the local biking community, spending hours cruising the streets of Accra on two wheels.

His upcoming plans to “wheelie all the way to the slave castles” would certainly be a symbolic and energetic journey, perhaps blending his passion for bikes with a deeper cultural exploration.
While fans await confirmation of his trip, the anticipation is already building. Meek Mill’s first visit was a cultural exchange that brought excitement, pride, and some controversy, but it’s clear the rapper has a special place in his heart for Ghana. His return would not only be an opportunity to reconnect with the country but also to continue his exploration of its history and people in a unique way.
If Meek’s trip goes ahead as planned, it’s likely to be another eventful chapter in the rapper’s relationship with Ghana, one that promises thrills, history, and perhaps even some redemption after the Jubilee House debacle.
