American rapper Meek Mill has publicly conveyed his deep admiration for the President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, proclaiming him as his favourite political figure.
In a recent statement, Meek Mill expressed his admiration for President Akufo-Addo, claiming that meeting the president during his trip to Ghana is one of his most treasured memories.
The rapper said that he felt more confident after meeting with President Akufo-Addo during a complex debate with Rick Ross.
“I met the President of Ghana, so he’s one of my favourite politicians. To be able to meet a black president myself and let me in the president’s house, he made me have a lot of confidence in myself, and I want to be better, so I’ll say that’s my favourite politician right now,” he stated.
Meek Mill, who made a trip to Ghana in December 2022 to participate in the AfroNation festival, underlined the importance of being given an invitation to the Jubilee House for a meeting with the President and the impact it had on him.
A music video was reportedly filmed at the Jubilee House during the rapper’s visit. The incident caused widespread criticism in Ghana, with many citizens accusing the president of giving the American rapper special treatment that no Ghanaian artist would be given under normal circumstances. The rapper recently expressed his intention to embark on another journey to Ghana.
