I’ll Sue the Government If They Dismiss Post-December 7 Workers – Assafuah

Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has warned the government against dismissing workers who were added to the payroll after December 7, 2024.

Speaking on Accra-based Adom TV, Assafuah expressed his readiness to take legal action if such dismissals were carried out, defending the workers as victims of administrative processes rather than political manoeuvres.

“Most of these young people have been with these government agencies since October. However, you know how these agencies work.

They may have been added after December 7, 2024, because of how things are done,” he said, shedding light on how systemic delays might have caused the late inclusion of these workers on official payrolls.

His statement comes amidst rising concerns that post-election hirings could be deemed invalid and subjected to mass terminations, a pattern often seen in politically charged employment cycles.
