Cardi B has come out swinging after being sued for allegedly not paying the rental fee for the mansion used in her “Like What” music video. The rapper took to social media to set the record straight, claiming she has all the receipts to prove she paid what was owed – and more.
“We paid those people $10,000 IN CASH to rent the property for a full 24 hours, from 6 a.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning, and we even went over by ONE hour,” Cardi explained, emphasizing that she had already paid additional overage fees to the realtor back in March.
“There were cameras all over, and both the realtors and the owners were there the ENTIRE time… I got pics and videos of them on set!!”
Clearly frustrated, Cardi accused the property owners of trying to manipulate the situation and twist the facts. “Now they wanna finesse us, trying to say we told them it was a TikTok video when that was nowhere in the contract. Like they didn’t hear the whole song playing and see how long we were shooting…. Why would it take us 24 hours to shoot a TikTok?”
Cardi didn’t hold back, calling out those involved for trying to exploit her and promising to take legal action. “The problem is people wanna find loopholes and get over, but IRON YOUR BEST SUIT B***H, I’ll see you in court!!!!”
Cardi’s fiery response makes it clear she’s ready to defend herself in court, standing firm on her claim that all payments were made, with plenty of proof to back her up.
The Bronx rap artist shared screenshots of text conversations with Offset regarding the rental of the property, along with evidence of a $4,500 payment made to the realtor.
