Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu has expressed his frustration with the growing trend of politicians attempting to influence voters with gifts, particularly during election periods.
In a passionate statement, Manu shared that he would not tolerate such tactics and would not be swayed by the distribution of goodies at polling stations.
“If I am standing in the queue waiting to vote, and any party member, from either Party A or Party B, approaches me with a goodie and says, ‘Kwaku, take this,’ either you or I will create a scene.

I will even slap you,” Kwaku Manu declared, speaking out against the practice that he believes undermines the integrity of the voting process.
“If you do that to me, you’ve insulted me,” he added, making it clear that he values his dignity over any material offering.
The actor went further, emphasizing that no amount of food or drink could buy his vote. “This is not the time for you, the minister or MP, to pretend that you care about me. You don’t get to show up with rice or water to try and win my vote,” he said.
His words reflect a growing frustration among many Ghanaians who feel that politicians take advantage of voters’ needs in an attempt to secure their loyalty.
Manu’s anger is rooted in what he sees as a deep disrespect for the electorate. “If you like, prepare fufu with my favourite soup, I will still vote against you if you are not the candidate I intend to support.
I’ll ensure I eat whatever I want before going to the polling station. I cannot be bribed,” he stated firmly, reinforcing his commitment to voting based on principles, not short-term incentives.
