If We Can Get A Bawumia-Alan Ticket, It Will Be Fantastic – Hackman

As momentum gathers for the presidential primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), following the resignation of Alan Kyerematen from his ministerial role, a party elder is mooting the idea of a Bawumia-Alan ticket for election 2024.

Alan has resigned as Trade Minister, giving credence to suggestions that he might be getting ready for the presidential primaries.

Having served in that portfolio since Akufo-Addo’s administration, Mr. Kyerematen resigned this week without an explanation.

The President, Nana Akufo-Addo, accepted his resignation, and asked the Finance Minister Ken-Ofori-Atta, to fill the role temporarily.

The Chairman of the NPP’s Council of Elders, Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, believes having the two main contenders partner may help.

“I think that as a political party, our job is to ensure that we are able to work together as people who are of the same stables, and for that matter think alike and so I have no problem with that at all.”

“In fact, if I were to be asked, I would say ideally if we can get the vice president, my own brother Kyerematen, and my own brother Bawumia together it will be fantastic”Mr. Owusu-Agyemang told the Pulse on Joy News.

“We are a democratic party with a purpose, and the purpose is to win the election in 2024.”

I’ve been in politics for over sixty years, and I cannot think putting the competing interests together will in any way be a disadvantage. If in anything at all it will be the greatest advantage we have.”
