Pope Skinny has opened up about the complex role fame has played in his life, particularly in securing a U.S. green card.

Skinny revealed how his celebrity status both helped and complicated the process of acquiring permanent residency in the United States in an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, Pope

“My fame made acquiring a U.S. green card hard and yet easy,” Pope Skinny shared, acknowledging the dual-edged nature of being in the public eye.

While the challenges of fame can be overwhelming for some, Pope Skinny credited it with opening doors that would have otherwise been closed to him.

“Fame has opened some doors for me an ordinary name couldn’t have,” he said, explaining that when authorities Googled his name during the green card application process, the positive search results worked in his favor.

“God being so good, when they Googled my name, they got some good stuff about me.”

He went on to highlight the perks of fame, encouraging others to seek their own taste of it. “Fame is good. Every human must taste it,” he said, adding that if it weren’t for his fame, he wouldn’t be enjoying the opportunities and lifestyle he currently has. “If it wasn’t for fame, I wouldn’t be here.”

Pope Skinny further disclosed that he now divides his life between Ghana and the U.S., with homes in both countries and family residing in both places.

“I have a home in Ghana and another in America. My family is both here and abroad, also,” he explained, giving a glimpse into his life of mobility and dual residency.

Addressing any potential speculation about how he travels freely between the two countries, Pope Skinny made it clear that his U.S. residency is legitimate.

“I didn’t go to America by sea or desert. If I can go back and forth so freely, you must know I am married,” he said, alluding to the fact that his status is tied to his personal life as well as his professional achievements.
