Jamie Foxx has shared his terrifying ordeal of slipping into a coma last year, causing concern among his fans and colleagues.
In a video that emerged on social media on Monday, July 1 and making rounds on some entertainment news platforms, Foxx recounted an incident at a restaurant in Phoenix where he mentioned taking Advil for a headache and then waking up 20 days later with no memory of what transpired.
Initially described as a “medical complication,” Foxx’s daughter Corrine assured everyone that he was on the path to recovery due to prompt medical attention and excellent care.
The incident occurred while he was shooting the film Back in Action in Atlanta alongside co-stars Cameron Diaz, Glenn Close, and Kyle Chandler.
Directed by Seth Gordon, this action-comedy is scheduled to debut on Netflix in November.
Amid various rumours and speculations about his health, Corrine later disclosed that her father had been discharged from the hospital for weeks and was recuperating well, even mentioning that he had played pickleball the day before.
“Look, April 11th last year, bad headache asked my boy for an Advil [clicks fingers], I was gone for 20 days. I don’t remember anything,” he explained. “I’m in Atlanta, they told me — my sister and my daughter took me to the first doctor.
“The next doctor said, ‘There’s something going on up there,’” he continued, pointing to his head. “I won’t say it on camera […] but it was,” Jamie told the curious crowd.
