During an interview with Hitz FM, rapper Amerado emphasized that while he has incorporated singing into his craft, he has no plans to abandon his true speciality.

Having faced challenges in breaking into the mainstream with his rap songs, Amerado experienced a breakthrough with the release of the song Kwaku Ananse where he surprised fans by showcasing his singing abilities.

This track became one of the biggest songs of 2023 and has gained popularity nationwide and boosted entertainment in Ghana.

The success he has achieved with this song, including nominations for the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs), Amerado remains committed to his identity as a rapper.

He acknowledged that singing has attracted new fans, but he will always remember and appreciate those who have supported his rap career from the beginning.

“I think I’m only telling people how good I can be, and how well I can get out of my comfort zone. But I’m known as a rapper and I’m always going to stick to that.

If somebody raps for seven years and sings for two years or one year, it doesn’t wipe out all the hard work he’s done as a rapper. And I believe that everyone who knows me knows that I can never turn my back on rap music,” he said.

Continuing, he said, “Singing has introduced me to a wider audience, but then I can never turn my back on the people who held me down throughout my rap, like hardcore rapping days.

And up until now, even if I close my eyes and you give me a microphone, I can spit.”
