In a touching tribute, Nicole Scherzinger, a former judge on The X Factor and member of the Pussycat Dolls, honoured her late friend Liam Payne with an emotional Instagram post.

Scherzinger, who played a pivotal role in forming the iconic boy band One Direction, shared her heartfelt message following Payne’s tragic death at the age of 31.

“Dear Liam, I will forever cherish and treasure the time we shared, from fifteen years ago when One Direction was born, right up until just a few weeks ago,” Scherzinger wrote.

She expressed how blessed she felt to have recently worked with Payne on the Netflix series Building the Band, where they reconnected after more than a decade.

“It was such a blessing to get to work with you recently. We shared the same love and passion for music and I will forever remember the meaningful and joyful conversations we had,” she continued.

Scherzinger admitted that it has been difficult to process Payne’s sudden passing but expressed gratitude for having known his kind heart, sweet soul, and character.

“You brought so much joy, light, and laughter to the lives of those that truly knew you,” Scherzinger concluded. “I will ‘miss you’ my friend and carry you in my heart.

“My thoughts and prayers are with your family.” Scherzinger’s tribute comes as fans and celebrities alike mourn the loss of Payne, who died from multiple traumas and internal and external hemorrhages after falling from a balcony in Buenos Aires .

The news of his death sent shockwaves across the world, with many remembering him for his contributions to music and his kind nature.

Scherzinger, who was texting Payne on the day he died, shared a collection of photos with him and their Building the Band co-star Kelly Rowland.
