I Studied Building Construction In School- Bukom Banku’s Son Reveals

Bukom Banku and his son perfectly exemplify the saying the apple does not fall far from the tree.

They both possess a delightful sense of humour and charm, just like their father. This was evident in a recent interview where Abubakar Kamako, known professionally as Ambitious Tilapia, made a statement that truly showcased these traits.

Despite studying building construction in school, he admitted that he could never pursue a career in this field. Despite his education, he humorously confessed that he wouldn’t be able to lay a single block to save his life.

He made this known on Adom TV saying, “I went to Afajato Senior High Technical School where I studied Building and Construction but right now if I build your house for you it will collapse. I’m focused on Olympics qualifiers. I will qualify because I have some spirit inside me. I will do greater exploits and people need to watch out for me”.

A moment of pride occurred recently at the 13th African Games held in Ghana when Bukom Banku paid a visit to Abu to offer motivation before his semi-final boxing match against a Congolese opponent, which he won controversially.

The retired boxer entered the Bukom boxing arena with flair, encouraging his son to persevere and bring home a gold medal for Ghana.

As the fight commenced, Ambitious Kamako, also known as Abu Kamako, secured a narrow victory. Tilapia began the match strongly, landing impressive punches, while his opponent, Nathan, struggled to make an impact.

Despite gaining a significant lead in the first two rounds, Tilapia’s energy waned, forcing him to rely on the ropes to evade Nlandu’s relentless attacks.

At times, Tilapia had to clinch his opponent to catch his breath and avoid being knocked out. In a desperate move, the Ghanaian boxer even forced Nlandu to the ground.
