In a fiery response to the legal threat from Folake Falana, the daughter of renowned Nigerian human rights lawyer Femi Falana, social commentator and influencer Very Dark Man has stated he is ready to face the consequences of his comments regarding corruption allegations tied to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
His remarks followed a recent controversy surrounding Bobrisky, Nigeria’s popular cross-dresser and social media influencer, who allegedly paid N15 million to the EFCC to have money laundering charges dropped.

Very Dark Man’s comments, which referenced Bobrisky’s claims of paying off EFCC officials and receiving special treatment during detention, sparked a wave of public outrage and led to accusations that some notable figures, including Femi Falana and his son, musician and activist Falz, were indirectly implicated in the alleged cover-up.
In his video, Very Dark Man called for unity in fighting corruption within Nigeria’s agencies instead of turning a blind eye to these disturbing allegations.
“Imagine Bobrisky saying that he paid N15 million to EFCC to drop the money laundering charges,” he said, “that should be disturbing to all Nigerians for crying out loud.”
He further expressed disbelief over Bobrisky’s claims of being given an apartment outside the prison after allegedly bribing officials, calling it “worrisome and disturbing” that influential individuals could potentially evade justice through corrupt means.
The controversy escalated when Falz’s sister, Folake Falana, took issue with Very Dark Man’s comments, particularly because her father’s and brother’s names were mentioned in the context of the alleged corruption.
She demanded a public retraction and an apology from Very Dark Man, threatening legal action otherwise. However, the influencer remained defiant in his stance.

In response to the Falanas, Very Dark Man argued that he did not accuse the family of any wrongdoing but merely mentioned them in the broader context of the controversy. “Everybody is coming for me because I said your father’s name was mentioned,” he stated.
“Was your father’s name not in the recording? Am I the one that put Femi Falana and Falz’s name inside the recording?”
He clarified that he even expressed disbelief in the claims involving the Falana family, saying, “I refuse to believe…what did I say there? The next thing Falz came with a letter to retract…Retract what? Am I the one that placed your name there?”
Despite the threat of legal action, Very Dark Man remained unapologetic, stating, “Now you are saying you want to take me to court. There is no problem. Highest, I will be locked up for six months or one year.”
