Actor Sumsum Ahuofe has highlighted the substantial advantages that actors gain from YouTube, contrasting it with the conventional methods of movie marketing used in earlier times.

The Kumawood actor, recognized for his bulging eyes, emphasized that YouTube has provided them with financial empowerment, pointing out the positive changes in their lives and the assets they have accumulated.

He remarked that YouTube enables content creators and actors to generate income through the backing of their audience, a crucial element that was largely absent in the past.

He mentioned that before the emergence of YouTube, there were actors who struggled to afford even a small piece of land; however, the situation has transformed significantly, with many now owning several properties.

He said: “Since YouTube came, some actors and actresses have been able to buy cars and houses. I know some actors and actresses who could not even buy a plot of land despite appearing in many movies for over 15 years but today, people who has achieved success from YouTube have been able to build their own houses.”

Sumsum Ahuofe remarked that he and his peers previously needed to engage in numerous film projects to earn substantial income and gain recognition. However, with the advent of YouTube, they can now attain these goals more effortlessly.

“I know it takes a lot of work to build your YouTube channel, but in the past, if you wanted to become famous, you needed to act in many movies for the audience to notice you. It was exhausting but with YouTube, you can share your content and get support from people for you to go viral.”
