In a deeply reflective sermon on Sunday, December 8, 2024, Rev. Kusi Boateng, the founder of Power Chapel Worldwide, addressed his congregation about the recent election results and the profound lesson he learned from it.
The once-hopeful prophecy he had made earlier in the year—that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia would emerge victorious in the 2024 presidential elections—had not come to pass.
Instead, the election was decisively won by John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Rev. Kusi Boateng, who had confidently spoken of Bawumia’s victory, was clearly struggling to come to terms with the opposite outcome.
“The same way God has been speaking to me over the years, He spoke to me, but the opposite occurred,” he began, his voice filled with emotion and sincerity. “I saw right, I heard right, but the opposite has occurred. There is nothing I can do.”
He acknowledged the difficulty of explaining his experience, especially given how confident he had been in his prophecy.
“It is very interesting that in our walk with God, there are times when you feel you know Him so well, but you come to a place where He starts and redefines Himself to you,” Rev. Boateng shared.
The preacher went on to reflect on the nature of faith and divine communication. “Personally, I think that physically it is difficult to explain, because the same way I have been hearing God speak was the same way I heard Him speak,” he continued.
“But as the Bible says, ‘let God be true and let all men be liars.'”
