Shatta Wale has emphasized the importance of staying away from drugs during a recent meeting with up-and-coming artists who visited him at his hotel room in Navrongo during his recent concert in the Northern Region.
He shared that he has been drug-free for several months and encouraged the newcomers to focus on their music careers instead.
“Make your focus go the music more. Leave some things. I smoke alright but about five months now I have not smoked weed. I know people will not believe me.
“It’s just cigarette that I smoke now,” he revealed, acknowledging that his claim might be met with skepticism.
“Sometimes you need to quit certain things and focus on yourself. But the tramol and those things, don’t take it because I have boys who took those things are condemned now,” he told them. .
Meanwhile, Shatta Wale is scheduled to perform at Emmanuel Adebayor’s retirement concert in Lome, Togo.
The event, known as the Jubilee Concert, is part of a series of programs organized to honour Adebayor’s retirement.
Adebayor announced his retirement from professional football on 21 March 2023, aged 39.
Despite initially planning to retire earlier, the 40-year-old has postponed his retirement party to June 2024 and will now conclude his career with a celebratory event.
During his career, he played for English clubs Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace, as well as French side Metz, Monégasque team Monaco, Spanish team Real Madrid, Turkish clubs İstanbul Başakşehir and Kayserispor, Paraguay’s Club Olimpia and Togolese club Semassi.
The Stade de Kegue in Lome will host a grand concert featuring Shatta Wale and other popular artists from Africa.
