Former National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mustapha Hamid has strongly denied reports that the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared him wanted.
In a fiery social media post, Hamid dismissed the claims as outright falsehoods aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
“As a matter of public record, at the time of making this post, I have not been invited by the Office of the Special Prosecutor about any investigations whatsoever,” he stated.

His response came after Joy News published a report alleging that the OSP had declared him wanted. According to Hamid, the publication was not only inaccurate but also deliberately harmful.
“Yesterday, Joy News published a false and defamatory story about my person. According to the fake news circulated on their social media channels, the Office of Special Prosecutor has declared me wanted.
“The said publication is not only false but mischievous, malicious, defamatory and intended to expose me to public ridicule, which it has. This is another typical case of irresponsible journalism, which threatens Ghana’s democracy.”
Hamid did not hold back in his criticism, calling on Joy News to retract the story and issue an apology with the same level of prominence.
“I am by this medium demanding an immediate apology from Joy News, which should be accorded the same prominence given to the fake news.”
