Donald Trump has expressed his disdain for Taylor Swift, criticizing her on Truth Social shortly after she endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and commended her running mate Tim Walz for his advocacy of women and the LGBTQ community.
He posted; “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” on his social media platform.
Swift revealed that a previous post by Trump on Truth Social in August, which inaccurately portrayed her as supporting the Republican nominee through an AI-generated image, motivated her to publicly endorse Harris in an Instagram post on September 10.
“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift said.
Recent polling regarding the US presidential election indicates that the competition is expected to be closely contested.
With Swift’s substantial impact on pop culture, her endorsement could inspire her vast fanbase to participate in the voting process.
However, it remains uncertain whether Swift has notably influenced public sentiment or will do so in the future.
According to an ABC News-Ipsos poll published on Sunday, only 6% of adults reported that Swift’s support for Harris increased their likelihood of voting for her.
