I Don’t Understand Why He Did That – Showboy on Fallout with Criss Waddle

Ghanaian socialite Samuel Safo, better known as Showboy, has shared details about the breakdown of his relationship with musician Criss Waddle, citing betrayal in business and unmet expectations as key reasons for their fallout.

In a revelation on the Delay Show, Showboy recounted how a business deal went sour, accusing Criss Waddle of taking an unauthorized cut from his earnings.

“I used to sell cars, and one of our boys asked me to buy a car for him. After shipping the car to Ghana, Criss Waddle went behind my back and took a percentage of the money without telling me,” he explained.

The betrayal, according to Showboy, was particularly hurtful because he had invested his own resources into the business.

“I got pissed because it was all my money. Even the license I was using to operate was mine. So I didn’t understand why he did that, and that’s what caused our fallout. Up until now, I still don’t understand why he did that,” he added.

Despite the bitterness surrounding their business dealings, Showboy acknowledged Criss Waddle’s role in supporting him during tough times.

He reflected on the help he received from Waddle when he was struggling financially. “Oh, Kwaku (Criss Waddle) helped me, and I can’t deny that. There was a time when I wasn’t working, and he paid my rent and bills. He even helped me when I wanted to smoke,” he admitted.

However, this gratitude was overshadowed by Showboy’s grievances about Criss Waddle’s partial assistance during his legal troubles.

“What got me angry was that he didn’t make full payment when we had to pay my lawyer. He was the reason I was arrested, and on the streets, he’s like my family, so he needed to help me. That’s how it works on the streets,” Showboy stated.

The tension stems from what Showboy described as a breach of the unwritten “street code,” a principle of mutual support among those from similar backgrounds.

“I had to fund him when he had no money. Now that he has money, he should fund me because that’s how the street works. I’m also one of the reasons he’s making all that money,” he argued.
