Nicholas Omane Acheampong has expressed his lack of confidence in John Dramani Mahama’s ability to maintain the free Senior High School (SHS) initiative established by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), should he regain power.
Although Mahama has claimed he does not plan to abolish the policy, which, despite its popularity, has faced several challenges, the veteran musician believes Mahama is fundamentally against it.
Consequently, Omane Acheampong is urging voters to support the NPP, under the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to ensure the continuation of the free SHS program.
he made this statement on Joy FM.
“If I sit aloof as a celebrity thinking about my brand and John Dramani Mahama is brought back as President, we will see that he has cancelled the Free SHS policy.
“That is why I am not perturbed about Yes, he has said that he will not cancel it but since NPP proposed the policy, you know what he has been saying about it since 2008,” he claimed.
In the same vein, Kwasi Aboagye did not hold back when addressing Nicholas’ claim that John Dramani Mahama planned to cancel the free SHS policy a few weeks ago while in the studios of Peace FM.
During his appearance on Kwasi Aboagye’s Entertainment Review show monitored by GhanaStreetJournal, Omane Acheampong confidently asserted that the NDC flagbearer intended to scrap the NPP’s flagship project, the free SHS policy.
Aboagye promptly challenged him, stating that Mahama never made such a statement and urged him to provide evidence to support his claim.
The ace broadcaster criticized Omane Acheampong for spreading misinformation and involving himself in politics without proper knowledge due to his allegiance to the NPP.
