Kanye West, a name synonymous with innovation in hip-hop, has made a surprising revelation—he no longer listens to rap music.
The artist, who has dominated the industry for decades, claims the genre no longer aligns with his personal or financial goals.
“I don’t listen to rap. I don’t know who the f*ck is rapping anymore,” West stated bluntly. “Yuno Miles is likely my favourite artist.”
At 47 and with billionaire status, Kanye believes rap no longer serves his interests. “There’s not one piece of information in rap that benefits my agendas or helps me get money,” he explained.

This statement marks a drastic shift for an artist who once revolutionized the genre with albums like The College Dropout, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and Yeezus.
However, it also speaks to West’s ever-evolving artistic direction. His recent work, including Vultures with Ty Dolla $ign, has embraced a more genre-blending, experimental approach.
While some may view his remarks as dismissive of the culture he helped shape, others see them as a reflection of his broader ambitions.
Kanye has always been known for reinvention—perhaps stepping away from traditional rap is just another step in his unpredictable journey.
