In a candid conversation with Code Mickey on the Highway show, rapper Kweku Smoke opened up about his career, revealing a refreshing perspective on success, recognition, and his position in the Ghanaian rap scene.
Despite his rise to fame, Smoke made it clear that he isn’t concerned with the mainstream industry’s obsession with accolades and titles.
Smoke, known for his gritty lyrics and collaborations with artists like Sarkodie, explained that he doesn’t measure his worth by being dubbed the “top rapper.”
“I’m not into titles or unnecessary accolades,” he remarked, dismissing any pressure to live up to the expectations that often come with such labels. For him, the goal has always been straightforward—his focus is on the music and the ability to provide for himself and his family.

The Jah Guide artist shared that his passion for music is driven more by its ability to offer financial stability than by the need for fame or recognition.
“My passion for this music and the financial rewards it brings, are what shape who I am right now,” Smoke said. He further emphasized that, regardless of whether he’s seen as a mainstream figure, his dedication to his craft and the lifestyle it supports is what truly matters.
While others in the industry may crave the spotlight and strive for titles, Smoke remains resolute in his path.
