Gospel singer-turned-television presenter, Empress Gifty Adorye, has broken her silence on the controversy surrounding her absence from Nana Ama McBrown’s Onua Showtime program on Onua TV.
Empress revealed the true reasons behind her last-minute cancellation during a heartfelt moment with McBrown, offering clarity to a situation that had sparked heated debates among their fans.
The drama unfolded weeks ago when McBrown, visibly upset, called out Empress for failing to honour her commitment to appear on the show.

“We agreed on your appearance, only for you to cancel at the last minute,” McBrown remarked publicly.
“You could have called me if you planned to cancel.” Empress later attributed her absence to a family emergency, but many social media users questioned the authenticity of her explanation.
The tension seemed unresolved until McBrown, mourning the recent loss of her mother, took a significant step towards reconciliation.
She visited Empress, and the gospel singer disclosed what truly happened during the emotional encounter.
Fighting back tears, Empress confessed, “My mother fell seriously ill on the day I was supposed to come for the show, and that’s why I cancelled.”
