Rapper and songwriter Kweku Darlington has explained in a new interview on Property FM that his work as an artist allows him to explore emotions and experiences through the lens of others.
He believes that music, as a medium, speaks for many people, even if the stories he tells aren’t directly his own.
“As an artiste, we speak for a lot of people through music,” Darlington explained.
“Sometimes, we look through the lives of other people and what they say about what they’ve been through, and we try and create music out of it.
”The rapper also touched on the inspiration behind his latest track, clarifying that while the song speaks about heartbreak and relationships, it isn’t a reflection of his personal life.
“With this one, it’s not my story per se, but I’ve realized it is something happening in our society, and it’s not the first time there is a break-up between lovers,” he noted.
Beyond that Kweku Darlington made a surprising revelation about his personal life, admitting that he has never been in an intimate relationship.
The rising star opened up about his lack of experience when it comes to love and romance, a topic that often inspires much of his music.
“The truth is, I don’t personally have any experience when it comes to love issues, and as I speak with you, I have never been in an intimate relationship,” Darlington candidly shared during the interview.
“As we speak right now, I’m a virgin, so I have no past or present exposure to being in love.”
