Renowned Kenyan artist KRG The Don has made a significant announcement, revealing his decision to step away from the entertainment industry to pursue a career in politics.

In a post on Instagram, KRG addressed his fans and followers, saying, “People are constantly in my DMs saying, ‘Bughaa, you’re so silent.’ Let me address you all once. That phase of my life is done. I am done with entertainment—music, showbiz, influencing, controversy, and series.”

KRG, known for his hit song “Mambo Imechemka,” reflected on his time in the entertainment scene with a sense of nostalgia, stating, “I enjoyed every single moment, from online fights to vipindire mingi (lots of plays). Not forgetting high and embarrassing situations.”

His journey in the industry has been marked by both triumphs and challenges, from hit songs to controversial moments that kept fans engaged.

However, KRG is now looking to channel his energy into more meaningful pursuits. “I wanna spend my time doing better things: God, myself, family, business, and education,” he said.

“I want to assure you all that this is a deliberate choice,” he explained. “As I transition into politics slowly, I believe it’s important to focus on what truly matters.”

KRG’s announcement has sparked a mix of reactions from fans and fellow entertainers. Many have expressed their support for his decision, wishing him the best in his new political endeavours.

“You’ve always been real with us. Wishing you success in this new chapter,” one fan commented, echoing the sentiments of many who admire his authenticity.
