How Janet Jackson Saved My Life- Rapper Eve Reveals in Her New Memoir

Rapper Eve has shared a life-changing moment involving music legend Janet Jackson.

In her newly released memoir, Who’s That Girl?, Eve recalls a time when she was overcome with emotion, only to be saved by an act of kindness from Janet Jackson.

“Missy came in to check on me, but I was just unable to collect myself. Then who walks in, Janet Jackson? I had never met her before, and so her first introduction to me was seeing me hysterical,” Eve writes.

Despite never having met before, Janet’s response was immediate and empathetic. “None of that mattered to Janet; she actually just sprang into action and told people to get aspirin, water, hot sauce, and a piece of white bread,” Eve continues, describing the unconventional remedy that brought her out of her emotional breakdown.

“That concoction knocked me right out of my hysteria. So basically, Janet Jackson saved my life,” Eve reveals, underscoring how that simple act of kindness had a profound impact on her.

Who’s That Girl?, which hit shelves last week, offers a candid glimpse into Eve’s life and career, with this touching story about Janet Jackson being one of the many powerful moments the rapper shares with her readers.

Eve, whose full name is Eve Jihan Jeffers, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actress. Born on November 10, 1978, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she rose to prominence in the late 1990s with her distinctive style and powerful lyrics.

Eve first gained attention with her debut album, Let There Be Eve…Ruff Ryders’ First Lady, released in 1999, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.

The album included hit singles like “Gotta Man” and “What Ya Want,” showcasing her unique blend of hip-hop and R&B. She was the first female artist to sign with the Ruff Ryders Entertainment label.

Beyond her music career, Eve has also made a name for herself in television and film. She starred in the popular TV series Eve, which aired from 2003 to 2006 and highlighted her comedic talent.

Additionally, she has appeared in movies such as Barbershop and Barbershop 2: Back in Business.
