The eagerly awaited Pirelli Calendar for the coming year will be illustrated by Ghanaian photographer Prince Gyasi. Gyasi, a gifted artist with a recognizable hyper-realist aesthetic, expressed his profound gratitude for being selected for this esteemed position.

Prince Gyasi made history as the first black photographer to create Pirelli Calendar. Gyasi intends to incorporate Ghana, his native country, into the project, adding a distinctive touch while highlighting the value of representation and culture in his work.

The Pirelli Calendar affectionately referred to as “The Cal,” has developed a reputation throughout the world for exhibiting the artistic prowess of both its featured talents and the imaginative photographers who bring their thoughts to reality.

On the renowned calendar, celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Serena Williams, Duckie Thot, Adwoa Aboah, RuPaul, and Whoopi Goldberg have all appeared.

The famed Italian tire manufacturer Pirelli’s U.K. division, which was founded in 1964, publishes the calendar. The calendar has attracted viewers throughout its history with its choice of photographers and models, showcasing a variety of glamour photography from the 1980s through the 2010s.

“I’m honoured that Pirelli has given me the opportunity to express my thoughts, feelings and emotions on their canvas for the 60th calendar,” Gyasi says of the project. “Representation and culture are very important to me, therefore, for the first time in the calendar’s history, I have decided that part of the project will take place in my country, Ghana.”

At the youthful age of 27, Gyasi identifies himself as a visual artist, delving into the world of photography more extensively after acquiring an iPhone at 16. Despite his young age, Prince Gyasi has already left an indelible mark on the world of photography.
