How Dr Likee faced rejection in the early stage of his career- Don Little

Don Little has expressed his views regarding a recent statement made by Dr. Likee, in which he indicated a desire to leave the acting profession while recounting the difficulties he faced throughout his acting career.

Don Little noted that Dr. Likee, previously known as Ras Nene, often faced rejection for roles and did not receive significant recognition for the minor parts he managed to secure in films.

The diminutive actor further elaborated on Dr. Likee’s evolution into a content creator, collaborating with Nana Yeboah to produce material for the “Ghana We Dey” YouTube channel.

He remarked that during that time, many people underestimated Dr. Likee’s abilities until his perseverance and commitment ultimately led to his success.

“There was a director nicknamed 925, a lady named Sadat and another person who managed a YouTube channel called Ghana We Dey. It was Nana Yeboah and I who were the major creators on that channel.

“We were there when Dr Likee was brought on board. I don’t remember who exactly brought him on. But when he came on board, there was trouble. People felt that Dr Likee wasn’t funny and all that so they wouldn’t shoot with him and all that,” he said in a video shared by EdHud on X.

Nana Yeboah played a crucial role in supporting Dr Likee, even offering to split his pay to keep Dr Likee on board.

“It was Nana Yeboah who stood up and said “Fine, let him stay on board, split my pay and give him the other half,” he revealed.

This action facilitated a stronger connection between Dr. Likee and Nana Yeboah, leading Don Little to withdraw from the channel to enable the two to collaborate more efficiently.

“Sadat even called me thinking I had left out of spite but I explained to them that Dr Likee and Nana Yeboah made a better pairing, so they should use him,” he explained.

Don Little also revealed that it was Sadat who gave Dr Likee his now-famous name.

He praised Dr Likee’s hard work and perseverance, which have led to his current success in the industry.
