Gospel musician Perez Musik has opened up about his painful struggle to secure blood for his mother’s cancer treatment, calling on the public to embrace blood donation to save lives.
“About two years ago, my mother was diagnosed with cancer, and her treatment required regular blood transfusions. Every week, we had to search for blood, and it became an overwhelming task,” he shared in an emotional video circulating online.
His experience exposed him to the harsh reality of blood shortages in hospitals, where desperate families are sometimes forced to buy blood at high prices.

“Sometimes, we’d arrive at the hospital, only to be told there was no blood available. And to make matters worse, some people would sell blood to desperate families like mine. We were spending approximately GH₵2,800 every week just to get the blood my mother needed,” he revealed.
Perez Musik credits his assistant’s donor card for eventually helping his family secure the much-needed blood. Now, he’s using his platform to encourage people to donate and help prevent similar struggles for others.
“This is why I urge everyone to find it in their hearts to donate blood and help address the shortage in our hospitals. Let’s work together to ensure no family has to go through what mine did,” he urged.
