Gospel singer Perez Muzik’s wedding to his new wife, Okailey, has become the center of a storm of controversy.
Social media users have criticized Okailey’s mother harshly. Her interviews, laced with grievances about her daughter’s marriage, have divided public opinion and placed the family drama in the spotlight.
Okailey’s mother, whose identity remains private, has clarified that she disapproves of her daughter’s marriage.
Speaking in a recent interview, she expressed frustration over the way the wedding arrangements were handled.
According to her, she was informed about the marriage a mere two weeks before the ceremony and had never met the groom before that.

“This isn’t how a mother should be treated,” she lamented. “I raised her, I sacrificed so much for her, but when it came to such an important day in her life, I was sidelined. I only got to know about it at the last minute.”
Although she attended the traditional ceremony, she felt disrespected by how she was treated. “I wasn’t given the honour I deserve as her mother,” she claimed. “
I wasn’t seated in a prominent place, and it felt as though I was a stranger at my own daughter’s wedding. How do you expect me to give my blessing to a union that disrespected me this way?”
In a move that has further fueled the backlash, Okailey’s mother openly renounced her role in the wedding. “I have nothing to do with this marriage. I don’t even want the items they gave me as the bride’s mother. They can have them back,” she said emphatically.
These statements have set social media abuzz, with many criticizing her for airing the family’s dirty laundry in public.
