Hopeson Adorye Reacts To Being Sacked From The New Patriotic Party

A member of Alan Kyeremanten’s campaign team, Hopeson Adorye, has reacted to his dismissal from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, the dismissal has no significant impact, and the former Minister of Trade and Industry is expected to emerge victorious in the upcoming 2024 general elections. In spite of his dismissal, Mr. Adorye plans to put in extra effort to help Kyerematen win the presidency in 2024.

“This is a waste of time for a general secretary to issue this kind of letter; everybody is aware that once you support a different candidate apart from the party’s candidate, you forfeit your membership… So when you forfeit your membership, what is the use for you to come and write and put it out?

“I don’t think it is worth it… I know where this orchestration is coming from. I am their headache. This will encourage me more. I am going to work hard to make sure Alan Kyerematen becomes the next president of Ghana,” Hopeson Adorye stated.

Due to their public endorsement of a candidate other than the party’s duly elected 2024 presidential candidate, Adorye and three others were kicked out of the party.

The remaining people affected by this situation include Nana Ohene Ntow, who previously served as the general secretary,  communications director Yaw Buaben Asamoa, and Boniface Abubakar Saddique, the former Member of Parliament for Madina.

The NPP’s general secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, released a statement on Monday claiming that the party members’ actions were in contravention of the party’s constitution.
