Hilda Baci is set to receive a parcel of land as a gift from the Nigerian company In-Motions Business Limited for setting the record for the longest cooking session by an individual.
The kind donation of the land, valued at N3.5 million, was revealed by the managing director, Mr Gideon Ekanem. Hilda Baci received the plot of land in Wana Court Green Estate in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, as a thank-you gift for her outstanding performance in the culinary marathon.
On May 15th, the 27-year-old graduate broke the previous record of 87 hours, 45 minutes and continued to cook for up to 100 hours before stopping. In a message posted to Twitter, Ekanem praised Baci for her patience and tenacity, which enabled her to accomplish the remarkable feat.
The statement reads; “Hilda Baci embodies the very essence of resilience within our society today. And we wholeheartedly join the entire nation and our fellow Akwa Ibomites in exuberantly celebrating her extraordinary achievement.
“In recognition of the remarkable feat in the cooking marathon, we are delighted to present Hilda Bassey with a free plot of land in Wana Court Estate, the first true green and smart estate in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.
“May this well-deserved honour serve as a testament to your unwavering determination. The foundation of In-Motions Business Ltd. rests upon the pillars of diligence and perseverance, as we consistently align ourselves with these virtues”.
Who is Hilda Effiong Bassey?
Baci was born on September 20, 1996, in Akwa Ibom State. She is a multi-talented Nigerian TV producer, actress, head cook at FoodbyHilda and entrepreneur who started her journey from grass to grace.
The cook-a-thon began on May 11 and ended on May 14. It featured a live-streamed show on multiple social media channels where Hilda made over 250 recipes and ultimately gave her the bragging right as far as the world record is concerned.
According to Hilda;
The journey to the cook-a-thon started five years ago. It is one of my biggest aspirations and I am glad that I took the bold step to embark on this adventure. I have taken time to prepare for this psychologically and I am proud to finally take on this challenge.
The cook-a-thon is also an opportunity to tell some of the positive stories that come from Africa through the meals that we make.
This attempt is also proof of the strength young people can exhibit with the right platform and support. I look forward to receiving support from people across the world to achieve this feat.
