Her Trip Was a Personal Break, Not an Escape – Legal Team Defends Gifty Oware Mensah

Lawyers for Gifty Oware Mensah, the former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), have set the record straight regarding her recent travels, emphasizing that her movements are entirely personal and within her constitutional rights.

Following speculation about her absence from the public eye after the 2024 general elections, her legal representatives, Sarkodie Baffour Awuah and Partners, issued a statement on Friday, February 28, 2025, dismissing any unfounded claims.

“Our client exercised her freedom of movement guaranteed under the 1992 Constitution to travel outside the country to take a break after the 2024 general elections,” the statement read, highlighting that her trip was a well-deserved personal retreat.

The lawyers also noted that despite being on a break, Oware Mensah remained engaged in national duties.

“It is worthy of note that even while on her break, she joined the Black Queens in Morocco in February 2025 as an Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA),” they clarified.
