Renowned for her bold attempt to break a Guinness World Record with a singing marathon, Afua Asantewaa is setting her sights on a new challenge.

The entrepreneur and journalist, whose passion for marathon singing earned her the spotlight earlier this year, is now hinting at a second attempt, this time in Kumasi.

In an exclusive interview, Asantewaa revealed her plans to bring her “Singathon” to life again in December, despite not reaching the Guinness World Record in her first attempt.

Determined to achieve her goal, she explained the motivations behind hosting the event in Kumasi. “I can tell you on your show that, God willing in December, I will be hosting another singathon, but this time I’m planning to do it in Kumasi,” she announced with excitement.

“Myself and the team are doing a feasibility study to appreciate which part of the city will best suit the attempt. This will allow those in this enclave to make a feel of the show and also deepen my ambassadorial role.”

The artist is keen to ensure that her second attempt is not only a step closer to the record but also a memorable experience for music lovers in the Ashanti region. Asantewaa’s first attempt, though unsuccessful, garnered widespread attention and support, leading to increased interest in her efforts to become a world record holder.

“The fact that I was not successful in my first attempt shouldn’t be a barrier to my quest of becoming a Guinness World record holder,” she added with determination, signalling her unwavering ambition to keep pushing toward her goal.

One of the reasons Afua Asantewaa is eyeing Kumasi for the next edition of her Singathon is to expand her reach and strengthen her role as a brand ambassador.

With her growing influence as a musician and public figure, Asantewaa hopes that hosting the event in a different part of the country will allow her to connect with a wider audience.

“Hosting the singathon in Kumasi isn’t just about me. It’s about deepening my ambassadorial role and spreading the love of music to every corner of Ghana,” she explained.

As preparations intensify for the December event, Afua Asantewaa is determined to make her second Singathon a success.

Afua Asantewaa’s journey is part of a larger trend of Ghanaian artists aiming to make their mark on the global stage through record-breaking challenges.
