The Deputy Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ernest Owusu Bempah, has questioned the credibility of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in its fight against corruption, calling on the party to take action against its own convicted members before targeting the previous government.
Speaking in an interview with Afia Pokua, popularly known as Vim Lady, on UTV, Owusu Bempah accused the NDC of selectively pursuing corruption cases while ignoring wrongdoing within its own ranks.
He pointed specifically to Sedinam Tamakloe, a former Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), who was convicted for causing financial loss to the state.

“If the NDC wants us to know that they are serious about fighting corruption, they should go and look for Sedinam Tamakloe, who has been convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction for causing financial loss to the state.
That is only when they can have the moral justification to fight corruption. Not a creature of their imagination that people in the previous government were engaged in what Okudzeto describes as state capture,” he said.
Owusu Bempah also criticized the NDC government for allegedly discontinuing corruption-related cases that involved its members while aggressively pursuing figures from the previous administration.
“You cannot discontinue all corruption-related cases in court and say you are going after people in the previous government because they do not belong to your political party. The NDC government has no moral justification in the fight against corruption,” he added.
