Gyan thought back on his previous feelings after being recognized and honoured in Parliament. Gyan accepted an official invitation to meet with Alban Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, where he conveyed his appreciation for the accolades he has received.

He shared a series of photos of his meeting with the distinguished lawmakers alongside this caption;

I honored an invitation by the speaker of parliament of Ghana Hon. Alban Bagbin & Hon Frank Annor Dompreh. The invitation was to congratulate me on my successful career , my service to Ghana and on my retirement from active football.

We had a great conversation on the way forward on how the members can support my Asamoah Gyan foundation and also purchase my Memoir which I launched last year. It was great meeting other honorable members of parliament and a thoughtful gesture from them. God bless our homeland Ghana . Thank you Mr Speaker and hon members of the house .

This evoked a flurry of comments from netizens, prompting one netizen to remind Gyan that he pay a glowing tribute to him by naming his son after him.
