Ghana Fire Service Needs Help – Samini

Published on

, Ghana Street Journal

Emmanuel Andrews Sammini, known by his stage name Samini, is a Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall recording artiste, has urged the government to update the ageing firefighting resources at the Ghana National Fire Service.

A video has surfaced that provides evidence that the majority of fire stations do not have the equipment necessary to put out fires in the event of an emergency.

This news comes in the aftermath of a devastating fire that broke out at the residence of a police officer and his family in Apromase, Ashanti Region. All of the members of the officer’s family died in the fire and their home in the police barracks, which got destroyed in the fire.

Concerns were raised as a result of the unsettling video that showed a car on fire, despite the fact that members of the Fire Service were there at the time and tried their best to save the vehicle. In response to the video clip, Samini voiced his frustration with the diminishing rate of Ghana’s development.

Samini made a request to President Nana Akufo-Addo to provide the service with equipment and support their efforts to save lives and property.
