Beginning Thursday, December 22, 2022, to Sunday, January 15, 2023, visitors to Ghana do not need to secure a visa in advance.
Visas are more convenient for travellers if they may be picked up at the airport.
On Thursday, Transport Minister Kwaku Ofori Asiamah announced the agreement as part of the government’s “Beyond The Return” effort.
Until January 15, 2022, Ghanaian travellers can select visa-on-arrival without prior permission.
Airports throughout the world have been asked to comply with the new arrangement.
