The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that all schools across the country will be closed on Friday, March 7, 2025.

This decision comes as a way to grant students a well-deserved break following their active participation in the Independence Day celebrations.

According to a press release signed by Cassandra Twum Ampofo, Head of the Public Relations Unit, the holiday is aimed at allowing schoolchildren to recuperate after their rigorous preparations and participation in Ghana’s Independence Anniversary activities.

The statement further noted that academic activities would resume fully on Monday, March 10, 2025. Parents and guardians have been urged to take note of this development to avoid any inconvenience.

GES expressed regret for any disruptions the announcement may cause but emphasized that the break was necessary to ensure students’ well-being.

This decision is expected to provide some relief to students who dedicate time and effort to rehearsals and performances during the national celebrations.
