Outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo delivered a heartfelt address at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s (PCG) Bicentennial Anniversary launch on Sunday, December 22, 2024, in Accra.
With a reflective tone, he celebrated his government’s achievements while acknowledging the crucial role faith and the church have played in shaping his presidency.
“I speak to you proud of the achievements my government has chalked under God’s guidance and the support of our people,” Akufo-Addo said, listing transformative policies in education, health, industry, infrastructure, and agriculture.
“I’m confident in all humility, prosperity will judge well the Akufo-Addo government’s performance. Future generations will look back on this era and say that we laid a strong foundation for progress and prosperity.”

The President’s remarks came during a momentous occasion for the Presbyterian Church, which is marking 200 years of service to Ghana. The event, held in Accra, drew a cross-section of dignitaries, clergy, and members of the church to reflect on its contributions to the nation.
Akufo-Addo expressed profound gratitude to the Presbyterian Church for its steadfast support throughout his tenure, noting its prayers and encouragement as a bedrock of his resilience.
“Your prayers have sustained me, and your faith has inspired me to persevere even in the most challenging times,” he remarked.
“The impact of the gospel is not only seen in schools and hospitals but in the moral fibre of our people. As President, I have often drawn strength and wisdom from the word of God.”
