In Ghana’s vibrant music industry, where loyalty often becomes a battleground, MC Portfolio has found himself caught in a storm of accusations and misunderstandings.
The longtime supporter of Stonebwoy’s BHIM Nation is now defending his reputation after DJ Slim publicly criticized him for allegedly accepting GH¢5,000 from Shatta Wale, a known rival of Stonebwoy.

What began as a commentary on DJ Slim’s Street is Watching podcast has spiralled into a heated debate, with some fans labelling MC Portfolio a turncoat while others rally to his defence.
The controversy comes as no surprise in an industry where allegiances are closely scrutinized. Shatta Wale’s SM camp, quick to pounce on the claims, took to social media to mock MC Portfolio, accusing him of falling for a trap laid by the rival camp.
But in an emotional post on X (formerly Twitter), MC Portfolio fired back, dismantling the accusations with a mix of wit and frustration.
“Funny how some of y’all in the SM camp think I can be bought with 5K—something God can help me make in 2 hours? After all the sacrifices I made for the Shatta KIP project without requesting a dime? Some of y’all SM guys are funny!”
