Born on March 11, 1992, in Accra, Ghana, Papa Oppong Bediako showed an early interest in fashion.  As a young boy, he was fascinated by Barbie dolls, which sparked his creativity and love for design.  His passion led him to pursue formal education in fashion, culminating in a degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York, where he made history as the first Ghanaian to deliver the commencement speech at the School of Graduate Studies graduation ceremony.

Papa Oppong’s career is marked by numerous achievements and collaborations with renowned brands and celebrities. He has designed ready-to-wear looks for West African fabric giant Woodin, collaborated with Swarovski, and illustrated for MAC Cosmetics3. His collection, “The Boy Likes Ribbons,” garnered international acclaim for its dynamic, statement-making pieces that marry traditional African craftsmanship with contemporary art-inspired design.
