Ghanaian musician and songwriter Kofi Kinaata has revealed his deep connection to football, a sport he once played passionately before his rise in the music industry.
Speaking in an interview with CNN, Kinaata shared how his love for the game inspired him to establish Team Moove FC, a community football club nurturing young talents.
“I have a football team because I used to play football,” he explained. “We formed a team that is the Team Moove FC, so we have Under-12, Under-15, Under-17, and a second division.”
Kinaata’s initiative reflects his commitment to grassroots football development, providing opportunities for young boys in Ghana to showcase and improve their skills.

For many, football is not just a sport but a lifeline—a chance to escape economic challenges and carve out a future for themselves and their families.
The Team Moove FC project comes as no surprise to those familiar with Kinaata’s story.
Before becoming a celebrated musician known for hits like Things Fall Apart and Susuka, Kinaata had dreams of becoming a professional footballer.
Growing up in Effiakuma, a suburb of Takoradi, football was an essential part of his upbringing. “Music eventually took over,” he once admitted in previous interviews, “but my love for football never left me.”
