Fire Outbreak At Kumasi Barracks Kills Policeman, his wife and child

Three members of a family have been burnt to death in a fire outbreak at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The fire gutted the room where the police officer, his wife and daughter were sleeping at a Police barracks.

It is not clear yet how the fire occurred as investigations are yet to be conduct into the bizarre incident.

The deceased male is an officer with the anti-robbery unit of the Ashanti Regional Police Command.

The bodies of the three have since been deposited at the mortuary.

The Assembly Member for the Apromase/Asawase Electoral Area, Ernest Kwarteng, who spoke to Citi FM, said they are waiting to be informed about the cause of the fire.

“According to eyewitnesses, the fire swept through one of the rooms and as we speak, a married man, the wife and daughter are no more.”

“They have been burnt and the body deposited at the morgue. The police came in but we are waiting for the experts to come in to tell us exactly what happened.”
